Shortlisted Hotels for National Porridge Awards Announced

Flahavan’s is delighted to announce the shortlist of finalists for its inaugural National Porridge Awards 2022.  Nine hotels, located across the country, have been shortlisted for the innovative and creative ways their culinary teams have elevated the breakfast experience and incorporated locally-sourced Irish oats into their breakfast offerings.  The shortlisted finalists include:

  1. The Granville Hotel, Co. Waterford
  2. The Metropole Hotel, Co. Cork
  3. The Lansdowne Kenmare, Co. Kerry
  4. Killarney Avenue Hotel, Co. Kerry
  5. Castlewood House, Dingle Co. Kerry
  6. Athlone Springs Hotel, Co. Westmeath
  7. Crowne Plaza Dundalk, Co. Louth
  8. Faithlegg Hotel, Co. Waterford
  9. The Killarney Plaza Hotel, Co. Kerry

“The standard of entries to the National Porridge Awards has been excellent and we are delighted to announce this shortlist, showcasing the ‘best of the best’ in hotel breakfast experiences that incorporate our world-class Irish wholegrain oats into their offerings.” said Shane O’Hanrahan, Flahavan’s Foodservice Business Development Manager.

For the final stage of judging, Eunice Power, well-known chef and food writer, will visit each of the shortlisted hotels, along with a representative from Flahavan’s, to experience their porridge offerings and select a winner for each of the competition categories: Best Classic Porridge, Most Innovative Porridge and Best Promotion of Porridge.

Winners will be announced later this month. Best of luck to all involved!
