Food Safety and Quality Assistant Manager

The Role

Food Safety and Quality Assistant Manager will oversee all aspects of our food production operations to ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations. The position will have a responsibility for implementing and maintaining effective food safety and quality programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the production of safe and high-quality products. The position will work closely with other members of the management team to identify and resolve quality issues and continuously improve our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety and quality programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, overseeing the entire food production process from raw material inspection to final product output.
  •  Conduct regular facility inspections, internal audits, and manage supplier relationships to ensure all materials and processes adhere to established food safety and quality benchmarks, including the initiation and oversight of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to address any identified issues.
  • Coordinate training programs for employees on food safety and quality requirements, maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, manage product recalls and corrective actions, and serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries related to food safety and quality.

Bakery Operative

The Role

The Bakery Operative will play a key role in the production of Flahavan’s bakery products, ensuring they are made to the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, contributing to the efficient operation of the bakery production line.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and baking of all bakery products.
  • Operate bakery machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, according to training and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor the quality of products, ensuring they meet Flahavan’s standards and specifications.
  • Pack and label finished products accurately, preparing them for distribution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Participate in inventory control, ensuring supplies and ingredients are stocked and managed effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to identify and implement improvements in production processes.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and food safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment preferred but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment used in bakery production.
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Good physical condition, capable of lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.
