The Lansdowne Kenmare announced as winner of Flahavan’s National Porridge Awards for Hotels

Flahavan’s is delighted to announce The Lansdowne Kenmare as the overall winner of its inaugural National Porridge Awards 2022 for hotels, for offering the ‘best of the best’ hotel porridge experience using Flahavan’s world-class Irish wholegrain oats.
The awards were split into three categories – Best Classic Porridge, Most Innovative Porridge and Best Promotion of Porridge – with one overall winner. As well as being awarded the overall prize, The Lansdowne Kenmare won in the “Best Promotion of Porridge” category. The “Best Classic Porridge” title was awarded to the Castlewood House Hotel in Dingle and the Crowne Plaza Dundalk won the award for the “Most Innovative Porridge”.
As part of the judging process, Eunice Power visited nine shortlisted hotels across the country along with a representative from Flahavan’s. As well as selecting winners in each of the three categories, three hotels were also highly commended for their excellent porridge offerings – The Granville Hotel in Waterford; Faithlegg Hotel in Waterford and the Metropole Hotel in Cork.
“The standard of entries to the National Porridge Awards has been excellent and we are delighted to announce The Lansdowne Kenmare as the overall winner, for the innovative and creative way it’s culinary team elevated the breakfast experience and incorporated our locally-sourced Irish oats into its offering.” said Shane O’Hanrahan, Flahavan’s Foodservice Business Development Manager.
